Homemade Fruit Roll Ups (Print Version)

Sweet, chewy, and bursting with real fruit flavor—no preservatives or artificial colors, just pure fruity goodness!

# What You'll Need:

→ Fruit Base

01 - 3 cups fresh or frozen strawberries, mango, raspberries, blueberries, peaches, or mixed fruit
02 - 2-3 tablespoons honey, maple syrup, or agave syrup (optional, adjust to taste)
03 - 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

# How-To Steps:

01 - Preheat oven to 170°F or set dehydrator to 135°F. Line rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or silicone mat.
02 - Combine fruit, sweetener if using, and lemon juice in blender or food processor. Blend until completely smooth, about 1-2 minutes.
03 - Pour puree onto prepared baking sheet. Use spatula to spread into even layer approximately 1/8-inch thick.
04 - Place baking sheet in oven or dehydrator. Dry for 4-6 hours until puree is no longer sticky and peels away easily from liner.
05 - Remove from oven and cool completely. Peel fruit leather from liner and transfer to cutting board. Cut into strips using sharp knife or kitchen scissors.
06 - Roll each strip in parchment paper to prevent sticking. Store in airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • You control exactly what goes into them no mystery ingredients or artificial colors
  • The texture is incredibly satisfying and chewy like candy but made entirely from real fruit
02 -
  • Too thin and it becomes brittle too thick and it stays gummy in the middle
  • The puree looks deceptively thick at first but spreads further than you expect
03 -
  • A little applesauce helps softer fruits set into a stable leather
  • Pour the puree slowly and let gravity help you spread it evenly
