01 - Combine orange juice, water, maple syrup or honey, cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise, ground ginger, nutmeg, and lemon zest in a large saucepan. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat.
02 - Add peeled, cored, and sliced apples and pears to the saucepan. Cover and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally until they begin to soften.
03 - Stir in pineapple chunks, seedless grapes, and orange segments, coating them evenly with the spiced liquid.
04 - Simmer uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes until the fruit is tender but retains shape and the liquid has thickened slightly.
05 - Remove from heat and discard whole spices. Serve warm, at room temperature, or chilled.
