# What You'll Need:

→ Red Layer

01 - 1 (3 oz) box strawberry or cherry-flavored gelatin
02 - 1 cup boiling water
03 - 1/2 cup cold water

→ White Layer

04 - 1 (3 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
05 - 1 1/4 cups cold milk
06 - 1 cup whipped topping

→ Blue Layer

07 - 1 (3 oz) box berry blue-flavored gelatin
08 - 1 cup boiling water
09 - 1/2 cup cold water

→ Garnish (optional)

10 - Fresh berries such as blueberries and strawberries
11 - Additional whipped topping
12 - Sprinkles

# How-To Steps:

01 - In a medium mixing bowl, dissolve the red-flavored gelatin in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir thoroughly to ensure full dissolution, then add 1/2 cup cold water. Evenly distribute the mixture among 8 small clear serving cups. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour until firm.
02 - In a separate bowl, whisk together the instant vanilla pudding mix and 1 1/4 cups cold milk for about 2 minutes until the mixture thickens. Gently fold in 1 cup whipped topping until fully combined. Once the red gelatin has set, carefully spoon the white pudding layer over the red layer in each cup. Chill for 30 minutes.
03 - Combine the berry blue-flavored gelatin with 1 cup boiling water in a bowl, stirring until dissolved. Add 1/2 cup cold water. When the white layer is set, gently spoon or pour the blue gelatin mixture on top of the white layer. Take care to avoid disrupting the layers.
04 - Refrigerate the assembled cups for at least 2 to 3 more hours until all layers are completely set and firm.
05 - Just before serving, top each cup with additional whipped topping, fresh berries, and sprinkles as desired.

# Expert Tips:

01 -
  • Each cup feels like a festive mini celebration, and the colors alone always win over kids and adults.
  • Layering is forgiving and strangely calming, with plenty of opportunities to sneak a taste while you work.
02 -
  • If you don't let each layer set fully, colors will blur in a pastel swirl that’s less parade, more puddle.
  • Folding in whipped topping gently changed my white stripe from heavy to silky-smooth—no shortcuts there!
03 -
  • A thin knife around the inside edge helps loosen stuck layers if you get too ambitious with pudding.
  • Dissolving gelatin completely in hot water is crucial—if you see any granules, keep stirring!
